Joe received his BFA of Photography from University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Throughout his education he was awarded numerous awards and scholarships for his work, including the competitive Barbara Blondeau Memorial Grant. His work has also been exhibited and sold in numerous group shows.
Since early on in his photo career, people and cultures have been the focus of his photography. He quickly took to weddings, appreciating the opportunity to photograph the gamut of human emotion compressed into a single day. The anxiety building up to the moment, tears from parents and friends, laughter at the unscripted moments, and the impassioned love of a newly wed couple.
His approach to weddings is to document, in a photo-journalistic style, all of the emotions and events as they unfold, weaving it into a powerful photographic story line of the wedding day. These images continue on for a lifetime and future generations as an opportunity to relive and share the day two became one.
When Joe is not photographing weddings he can be found in South America working on photo documentary projects, or braving the class IV rapids of West Virginia in his kayak.
